Ceiling tiles are essentially light panels used to cover ceilings. When an aluminum grid is installed over a ceiling’s foundation specifically for housing ceiling tiles, they can also provide some thermal insulation while drastically changing the aesthetics and acoustics of the room.

What Are The Tiles Made Of?

Ceiling tiles are traditionally made of aluminum, bamboo pulp, fiberglass-reinforced polymer, PVC/Faux tin, styrene, styrofoam, and/or urethane.

They are installed by two primary methods: Drop In and Glue Up.

Glue Up is pretty self-explanatory. These tiles have to be sealed with a specific brand of glue to stick on properly.

Drop-In is a tad more complex because it requires a previously installed grid but, once the grid is in place, the process isn’t too difficult.

Most of these tiles allow you to choose the method that works best for you and your home, which is another bonus.

Here are some of the ceiling tiles making waves right now — some of the most intricately designed and best priced. Take a peek!
