12x12 Ceiling Tiles

12x12-inch ceiling tiles are the perfect option for creating a balanced look where the pattern size is large enough to show detail on high ceilings at a restaurant or hotel lobby, yet small enough to not overwhelm the space in a home.

The 12-inch size lines up perfectly with walls, vents, and lights as standard room layouts are created in feet vs. irregular measurements. The result is easy installation with neat presentation.

With dozens of colors and finishes and multiple materials including copper, tin, and PVC across more than 60 different designs, youll find all your 12-inch ceiling tiles needs here. The panel sizes range between 12x12, 24x24 and 24x48 inches, making it work for grids and rooms with odd ends. Find the Right 12” Ceiling Tiles Here

Our selection of 12-inch ceiling tiles is continuously evolving as new styles, finishes, installation methods, and materials come to market.

Each material and installation method has its own benefits. Read the following information to learn about which option is best for your upcoming project, then take a look at some real examples of how 12x12 ceiling tiles have been used to update residential and commercial interiors.

Choose From Multiple Materials in Our 12x12 Range

There are three materials to choose from across our range of 12x12 ceiling tiles - PVC, copper, or tin-plated steel with different finishes available, including powder-coated and hand-painted options.

The full selection of PVC (excluding peel-and-stick tiles) and metal ceiling tiles are available in multiple panel sizes that feature repeating 12-inch patterns, whereas the PVC peel-and-stick tiles are produced as 12x12-inch panels.

Copper and tin tiles are a great choice for an authentic-look where the embossed or stamped 12-inch pattern adds depth to your ceiling. This makes them perfect for rooms where you want to showcase the atmosphere and details like dens, living rooms, banquet halls, restaurants, hotel lobbies, and event venues. The PVC tiles are a great, lightweight and affordable alternative to metal tiles, and they’re resistant to moisture making them perfect for high-humidity spaces including bathrooms, laundry rooms, entryways, basements, and kitchens.

Four Easy DIY Installation Methods Available

When it comes to installing 12x12 ceiling tiles, you have plenty of options with four different installation methods available, each of which is simple, straightforward, and DIY-friendly.

The metal and PVC tiles are available with drop-in or direct surface-mount installation methods (nail-up for the metal tiles, glue-up for the PVC tiles). For ultimate ease of installation, a select range of our 12-inch tiles are available as peel-and-stick panels.

Each installation method is briefly explained below so that you can choose the right tiles for your upcoming project, and if you need some help deciding, feel free to contact our customer service team for some friendly advice.

Drop-in (for suspended ceilings)

Drop-in ceiling tiles are designed for suspended ceilings. If you already have a suspended ceiling grid system in place, select this method and be sure to select a panel size that matches your existing grid system.

If you don’t have a suspended ceiling grid system, you’ll need to install that first.

Once the grid system is installed (or if you already have one), it’s then as simple as sitting each tile in place.

Suspended ceilings are a great choice if you have pipes, wires or anything else that you want to hide, while keeping them accessible.

Nail-up (direct surface mount)

The nail-up method is how decorative ceiling tiles were originally installed, and it’s still a popular option.

Each tile is nailed into place, but don’t worry about that ruining the design of your ceiling tiles, as each panel has an overlapping edge that will conceal the nails.

In most cases, your ceiling will need to be fitted with plywood or furring strips, so that there’s something solid to attach each tile to. If this isn’t suitable for you, and you’re interested in installing the ceiling tiles directly to your ceiling, the glue-up or peel-and-stick tiles are worth considering.

Glue-up (direct surface mount)

Our 12-inch PVC ceiling tiles mimic the appearance of metal ceiling tiles, while weighing less. This makes them suitable for the glue-up installation method, where each tile can be attached directly to your ceiling with Instant Grab water-based adhesive.

The glue-up method is one of the most DIY-friendly installation methods available, but for an even faster and easier option, our new peel-and-stick tiles might be exactly what you’re looking for.

Peel and Stick

New to the market is our range of 12-inch peel-and-stick ceiling tiles. They have a stunning, real-looking presentation, and they’re about as easy as it gets when it comes to the installation!

Simply peel off the back of the tile and stick it straight onto your ceiling.

Popcorn Ceiling Solution – more here

Just like many owners of early 20th-century homes in the US, this customer was looking for a solution to cover their outdated popcorn ceiling featured in their 1917 Craftsman home.

Rather than replacing the existing ceiling, which is a huge task, they installed new nail-up tiles that featured a 12x12-inch art deco pattern. The nail-up method was perfect for this ceiling as no structural enhancements were required, allowing the homeowner to mount the tiles directly to the surface, completely transforming their interior design within a day.

The tin ceiling tiles had an aluminum finish, reflecting the light from the pendants throughout the room and allowing natural light flow through the space. The pattern on the tiles was a smart choice, complementing the furniture and fixtures in the room as they all featured geometric patterns with similar styles.

The result was a bright room with a cohesive style - a great example of how ceiling tiles can have a big impact with just a few hours of work spent installing them.

Entire Restaurant Ceiling Upgrade – more here

This restaurant used the Tiptoe Tile in the Laquered Steel finish to upgrade their ceiling, creating a stunning feature. The Laquered Steel finish enhances the tiles' 12-inch pattern with a subtle shine that provides a beautiful feature without being overwhelming.

The tiles work perfectly with the timber accents and minimal decoration throughout the room. The pattern isn’t overly bold or dramatic, but it draws the eyes upwards and ties everything in the room together, while the lacquered finish creates a subtle and beautiful glow across the ceiling from downlights.

What was once an outdated restaurant is now an upmarket events venue where the reflective ceiling tiles featuring the elegant Tip Toe pattern create a high-end presentation.

Detailed and Ornate Restaurant Ceiling Feature – more here

The Paisley Daisies ceiling tile features an ornate and heavily detailed 12-inch repeating pattern and is made from lightweight, affordable PVC - often referred to as “faux tin”, because it mimics the appearance of authentic metal tiles.

Being a restaurant, humidity matters. Many ceiling panels aren’t suitable for installation in restaurants as they can’t handle moisture from the steamy environment, but that’s of no concern here as these tiles are completely moisture-resistant.

This restaurant installed tiles in an area of the ceiling where non–moisture-resistant tiles couldn’t be used, creating an eye-catching room feature in a spot that would otherwise be left plain.

The result was a memorable, eye-catching ceiling upgrade that requires no maintenance while complementing the LED pendants, faux stone wall, and other design features already present in the room.
