Project Overview
Originally built as a historic courtroom, this landmark space in Green Lake, WI had lost much of its architectural charm over the years. The ceilings were concealed beneath a drop ceiling, and the room had been divided with walls that disrupted the original design. In 2021, as part of a major renovation, the owners sought to bring the space back to life — restoring its original elegance while making it suitable for modern use as a wedding and special events venue.

Challenge
- The original vintage metal ceiling had been damaged with large holes and cuts.
- Decorative cornices and details were missing or compromised.
- A new solution needed to replicate the historic design while seamlessly repairing and blending with the original architecture.
Decorative Ceiling Tiles Solution
Working closely with Decorative Ceiling Tiles, the project team:
- Replicated the vintage metal tiles and cornices, ensuring exact matches with the original patterns.
- Restored the damaged areas by integrating new tiles with the historic ceiling.
- Maintained the building’s architectural authenticity while creating a durable, beautiful ceiling system for the future.
Results
The space has been fully restored to its original grandeur and now serves as a premier event venue. Key highlights include:
- Soaring vintage metal ceilings with perfectly blended restoration work.
- Crystal chandeliers adding elegance and illumination.
- Original hardwood floors and arched windows overlooking the Mill Pond, enhancing the historic character.
- A large double-door entry welcoming guests into a space designed for memorable occasions.
The restored courtroom is now a showpiece in Green Lake, hosting weddings and special events that celebrate both history and modern elegance.
