Choosing the Right Finish for Your Space
Not sure which finish, color, or style to buy? Or maybe you want something different to add a contrasting metal border color that separates the ceiling tiles from the walls and molding, we can help. Below you’ll find examples of how our customers have used tin fillers in their spaces or how tin fillers could look so you can feel confident you’re buying the right one.
Industrial Meets Classic in a Law Office
This customer used Shanko tin fillers #4574 with tin ceiling tiles and tin crown molding. The powder-coated champagne color was used across all the elements on the ceiling, creating a uniform finish. The combination of a classic metal ceiling with exposed pipes and a brick wall adds a bit of industrial character. The result is a very professional and polished ceiling that still has character. more here
A Statement Copper Ceiling
For this project, drop-in ceiling tiles were used rather than nail-up tiles like in the examples above. This customer installed a Solid Aged Copper Shanko Filler #410 along the thinner borders, making sure the ceiling tiles remained whole while neatly finishing the edges of the ceiling by closing the gap between the ceiling tiles and the wall. The grid bars were also painted, creating a finished and polished look. The result is a warm ceiling with a nice shine, making it a stand-out statement.

A Design Idea: Creating a Contrasting Ceiling
One combination can be surrounding copper ceiling tiles with white tin fillers #410, creating a border that blends in with the wall instead of the ceiling, making the room feel taller. This allows the rich copper tiles to remain whole, letting them be the feature of the room. This results in a polished ceiling that complements the chandeliers, large windows and ornate trims.
