Dakota Barn Tin was rescued from a barn roof and machinery shed in the Midwest. Every piece you receive has its own unique characteristics. Most have small holes or warps where they were originally installed, and some have marks of the original steel maker. There is an interesting range of colors including metallic grays, rusty oranges, tans and even yellowish shades. Adds contrast, character and depth to ceilings and spaces. It is delightful knowing that our remanufacturing process saves energy and keeps materials away from recycling centers and landfills.

The majority of each tile will have warm, orange/brown rust coverage and coloring.

Orders will be mostly rust, mostly galvanized, and some rust mixed. We recommend the most popular Random Mix style for large projects. Not recommended for small projects due to high piece-to-piece variability.

This is the best we could find. Each piece is a beautiful combination of rust and galvanization that only occurs through natural weathering. In addition, it is flat with little warpage. Recommended for small applications such as door inserts, statement walls, or arts and crafts projects.

New galvanized steel, light silver, semi-sheen. NO RUST or color variation.

Pre-rusted and manufactured with a natural accelerated rust treatment. When the solution is sprayed onto the rust, it spreads more evenly, resulting in a more even coating of copper rust paint, but with a slight blue/grey variation that you get from the antique galvanized style. We'll start by removing the rust, but if you've got your panels and want more rust, here's how to increase the amount of rust. We recommend sealing this style with a clear coat as the rust finish can rub off.

Antique steel, dark grey look, weathered texture. No rust or color variation. The finish degrades over time (exposure to moisture may cause white rust) and exposure to moisture will continue to degrade and may scratch. This style is a more porous finish, so sealing with a clear coat is recommended in high wear areas or where oil splatter is likely to occur.
