Decorative Crown Molding: The Perfect Finishing Touch for Your Beautiful New Ceiling

Written by Milan Jara on 17th Aug 2013

So you’ve just finished installing your beautiful decorative ceiling tiles (and it took less than a day!), and your brand new ceiling looks wonderful. What are you going to do next?

You could just sit back, relax, and enjoy your new ceiling “as is”—or you could complete that stunning new look with our equally beautiful (and equally easy to install) decorative crown molding and corner blocks.

A Crown Molding Design to Match Any Décor

Like our tiles, our decorative crown moldings are available in a wide variety of designs, ranging from the simply beautiful to the stunningly intricate.

Styrofoam Crown Molding

Our high-quality styrofoam crown molding strips are manufactured in Germany and are 6′ 6″ inches long; widths vary by design. Our narrowest design is the slim 2.75″ inches of our 50 DCT Simply Beautiful Narrow Styrofoam Crown Molding.

On the other end of the ruler, we have several 6″-wide offerings, ranging from the simply beautiful to the stunningly grand.

Do-It-Yourself Crown Molding

Our DIY Crown Molding strips are also made of high-quality styrofoam, but these longer strips are 8′ in length and made in the USA. Widths vary by design from 3.5″ to 5.5″.

Cutting DIY Moldings

The main difference between the Styrofoam Crown Molding strips and the DIY Crown Molding strips is that the DIY strips have a flat back so they lay flat on a miter saw, allowing you to simply cut them at a 45-degree angle just as you would a baseboard or chair rail. The flat back also means that these strips can be glued directly to most flat surfaces such as drywall, plywood, concrete, brick, and more, avoiding unsightly nail holes.

Corner Blocks

For an absolutely gorgeous final touch, our Styrofoam Corner Blocks offer the perfect solution. These blocks can be used on their own in inside corners or in pairs or groups of three for outside corners.

Easy Installation

All of these styrofoam products can be easily painted with any water-based paint, trimmed with ordinary household cutting devices. They can be glued with ceramic tile adhesive and caulked with painters’ caulk. Both products are available at most major home improvement stores and online.
